BrassTracker Terms of Use
Effective: May 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the BrassTracker iOS application ("BrassTracker" or "the app"). By installing or using BrassTracker, you agree to these Terms.
TL;DR
- BrassTracker is a personal record-keeping tool for handloaders.
- It does not publish loads, recommend pressures, or replace published manuals.
- Always cross-reference with published reloading manuals before pulling a trigger.
- You are responsible for safe handloading practices.
- The app is provided "as is". See the full disclaimer below.
What BrassTracker is
BrassTracker helps you log:
- Your firearms
- Your handload recipes (bullet, powder, primer, brass, charge weight, COAL, CBTO, etc.)
- Chronograph sessions and individual shot data
- Measured groups
- Brass lot wear over time
- Component costs
It is a logbook. A digital replacement for the spiral notebook many reloaders keep on the bench.
What BrassTracker is not
BrassTracker is not:
- A reloading manual
- A pressure-modeling tool
- A replacement for published load data from manufacturers (Hodgdon, Sierra, Berger, Hornady, etc.)
- A ballistics calculator
- A licensing system or firearms registry
Always consult published load data from a reputable source. And your firearm's manual. Before building any handload. The numbers BrassTracker stores are the numbers you typed; we do not validate, recommend, or warn against them.
Safety disclaimer
Handloading involves working with explosive propellants, primers, and high-pressure cartridges. Reloading errors can cause serious injury, death, or property damage.
You are solely responsible for:
- Following published load data from reputable sources.
- Working up loads from a starting charge and watching for pressure signs.
- Inspecting brass for case head separation, primer pocket loosening, neck splits, etc.
- Using appropriate eye and ear protection.
- Following all local, state, and federal laws regarding firearms, ammunition, and handloading.
BrassTracker stores notes and records. It does not make handloading decisions for you.
Eligibility
BrassTracker is intended for users 17 years of age or older. By using the app, you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction to possess firearms and reloading components, and that doing so is lawful where you live.
License
BrassTracker grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's standard EULA. You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app (except to the extent expressly permitted by law).
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the app.
- Use the app to facilitate the unlawful sale, distribution, or transfer of firearms or ammunition (the app is a logbook, not a marketplace).
Purchases
BrassTracker offers a paid base app and optional in-app purchases (one-time and subscription). All purchases are processed by Apple's StoreKit and are subject to Apple's App Store Terms.
- Base app: $2.99 (one-time, paid app)

Acceptable use
You agree not to use BrassTracker to:
- Violate any law (including export controls or firearms regulations).
- Store or transmit data unrelated to your own personal handloading practice.
- Use the app on behalf of another person or entity without their consent.
Third-party data
BrassTracker ships with reference catalogs of common cartridges, bullets, powders, and primers. These catalogs are provided for convenience only. Always consult the manufacturer's published load data and your firearm's manual for authoritative information. We do not endorse or recommend any specific load.
